Operations Systems Analyst II

Silvergate Bank as a unique opportunity to join our Digital Origination Team as an Operations Systems Analyst II ("Analyst"). The Analyst is a technical position supporting the bank’s Enterprise Content Management (“ECM”), Core Processing, and Ancillary Business systems with an emphasis on Commercial Lending. Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills are essential.

The Analyst must think critically to understand and solve complex problems based on a thorough understanding of currently deployed bank systems. A strong Analyst will also maintain knowledge of available systems not currently deployed and leverage this knowledge in proposing future-state solutions to management. While the Analyst will primarily act as a liaison between the lending business units and the ECM & Core applications, the analyst will work with other internal departments and may be required to interact directly with customers from time-to-time.

The Analyst will operate in a highly regulated environment and will adhere to all bank policies and procedures. Additionally, the Analyst will review system generated reports periodically to ensure the Bank’s Change Management Controls are being adhered to and Security Violations are addressed in a timely manner.

  1. Maintain current knowledge of all federal and state laws and regulations, along with the Bank’s policies and procedures.
  2. Avoids harm to consumers with any act that could be misleading, unfair, deceptive, or abusive in act or practice.
  3. Provides tier two application support to Silvergate employees related to production incidents, collaborating with other internal staff and vendors on a resolution.
  4. Manage projects to enhance, customize, maintain and support software systems and applications with an emphasis on Commercial Lending and Enterprise Content Management.
  5. Interact with Project Managers from multiple organizations to track project progress, identify risks, communicate risks and status, and assess potential impacts to the business.
  6. Maintain project documentation such as project lists, project status reports.
  7. Comfortable analyzing data, understanding data trends and presenting their findings as well as offering resolutions to system issues.
  8. Able to work in a fast-paced environment with daily challenges and opportunities.

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in business, computer science, or communications from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have 3-5 years community banking experience with an emphasis in Commercial Real Estate and/or Commercial & Industrial lending systems. Ability to work across lines of business to create and develop business requirements and design specifications. Experience diagnosing, reporting, tracking and resolving user experience issues. Must have an in-depth knowledge of computer systems, networks, and appropriate software applications, including strong technical aptitude and understanding of Microsoft Office suite of products. Experience working with software development tools and databases a plus (Microsoft Access, Excel VBA, Visual Basic etc.). Experience working with FIS ImageCentre and/or the Horizon Bank core system a plus.
