Accounts Payable Manager

Silvergate Bank has a unique opportunity on our Finance and Accounting team for an Accounts Payable Manager (APM). The APM is responsible for the accounts payable function which includes, vendor management, scanning and coding of invoices, managing AP approvals, AP disbursement, 1099 and tax related matters. Additionally this role directly manages accounting functions including maintenance of general ledger, daily cash balancing and project accounting.

  • Manage the procedures involved in depositing cash as needed.
  • Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
  • Manages AP monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information; ensures accuracy of financial statements.
  • Enters status change information into accounting software to ensure employee and vendor information is accurate and up to date.
  • Provides other accounting assistance to Controller, senior accountants and operations staff to meet business needs.
  • Provides training to employees and prepares AP Bank Bulletins to communicate any changes to AP processes and procedures including updates to expense policies and IRS regulations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all Federal and State Laws and Regulations, along with all Bank’s policies and procedures
  • Not to harm consumers with any act that could be misleading, unfair, deceptive, or abusive in act or practice
  • Must adhere to the Bank’s core values.
  • Works on other tasks as assigned by the Controller.
